Blog for 9/12/05

What the fuck?

A total lost weekend for the dynamic duo. Let’s start with a quick review:

At the Samichlaus household:
The Packers score 3 points and lose to Detroit 17 – 3. Javon Walker tears his ACL and is probably out for the season. To add insult to injury, the Confederate Packers are trounced by St. Ides’s Meisterbrau Shotguns as our 13 starters manage to muster 44.5 points. On a side note our 5 bench players scored 40.

At the St. Ides household:
The former #3 ranked Michigan loses on Saturday to of all teams the former #20 Notre Dame. This is followed up with a rank performance by the Seahawks on Sunday as Seattle loses to Jacksonville 26 -14.

Don’t expect too much happy talk on SBS today.

  1. I hate to say it, but karma is a bitch:

Packers WR Javon Walker reported on time in July after threatening to hold out. One of the arguments that agent Drew Rosenhaus made on his behalf was the fear that Walker could suffer a major injury and his chances for a lucrative long-term contract would be damaged. On Sunday, that injury occurred.

  2. All of a sudden I feel for the guy. Like J.S. said, it's exactly what Walker & Rosenhaus feared the most. Javon's a good kid and this is a tough break. But still... he'll get a half a million dollars this year, the best medical care absolutely free (I can't imagine he has a "co-pay"), and he'll spend the next 12 months rehabilitating and getting ready for next season.

...and after he comes back, the Packers in turn will do the right thing and make him a very rich man.
